About
My name is Rhea Pappas. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband, Steve and our paraplegic dog, Apollo. I have been photographing underwater since 2008 and creating fine art since 2005. Most of my work centers on the women experience, attachment to the womb, freeze, flee, and fight.
Most recently I have been working on a body of work that is nostalgic to me. Remembering my childhood, swimming in the cool Minnesota Lakes trying to escape the hot summer sun. Escaping to the one place that brought comfort and complete relaxation to me. The water.
Fun fact: When my Papou came from Greece to America, his last name was changed at Ellis Island from Panagiotopoulos to Pappas.
